  • When should I send out wedding invitations?
I suggest sending out wedding invitations 8-10 weeks ahead of your wedding date. Some couples like to go farther out, especially if you're having a destination wedding. You'll want your RSVP due date about 4-6 weeks ahead of your wedding date. That way you will still have time to do last minute tasks like organizing the seating chart and ordering items contingent on your guest count.
  • How long does it take to get the final order?
If the invitations are shipping directly to you (no assembly required on my end, most common) Digital ~ 5 days to print and ~3 days to ship Letterpress ~ 15 days to print and ~15 days to ship Foil ~ 15 days to print and ~15 days to ship If the invitations are shipping directly to me (assembly required on my end) Digital ~ 5 days to print and ~3 days to ship to me + 7 days assembly time + ~5 days to ship to you Letterpress ~ 15 days to print and ~15 days to ship + 7 days assembly time + ~5 days to ship to you Foil ~ 15 days to print and ~15 days to ship + 7 days assembly time + ~5 days to ship to you
  • How long does the entire wedding invitation process take?
This can vary based on assembly but typically I like to allow for 3 months to be on the safe side.
  • What are the steps in ordering custom wedding invitations?
Set up a free consultation! I will schedule time with you once I receive your form inquiry. The call is usually 15-30 minutes. This helps me gauge what you're looking for and put together a price quote for you. Once you receive the pricing and would like to move forward, I will send you wording templates, font options, and envelope color options via email. I can also send you samples in the mail of selected envelope colors and printed samples of existing invitations. This is my freelance job and I don't have a storefront. If needed, we could meet at a local public place which we can discuss in greater detail during the consultation. Once I receive your template, I begin designing. I begin the design process. This is where I ask for all your text, detail information, etc. This could take up to a week. When I've finished designing I will send over a digital mockup. Once the digital mockup is approved, half of the total is due for a deposit and I order hard-copy proofs, if applicable. (Essentially 1 complete invitation). The proof gets delivered directly to you. When you receive the proof and approve it, I finalize the order. If a change needs to be made, we can do so at this time and work via email to complete the final order. Once the proof is finalized, I will need your guest list in Excel/Google Sheets. While the invitations are being finalized I work on the envelopes with your guest list and send it to you for printing approval. The invitations come to me if there's assembly involved. If there is no assembly involved, they get delivered to you. Once you have all the invitations and envelopes in-hands, the remaining balance is due.
  • Do the invitations come assembled?
Your invitations will arrive similarly to those ordered on sites such as Minted.com. Examples: Belly Bands: All cards will come wrapped and you will need to put the sets together. The belly bands come with glue strips for easy assembly. Half Pockets: All cards will come wrapped and you will need to put the sets together. The belly bands come with glue strips for easy assembly. Full Pockets: The invitation will come glued inside the pocket but all other pieces would be assembled by you. Example: The RSVP Card, RSVP Envelope and Details Card would need to be put into the inside right pocket of the full pocket. Then it would get closed with the closure if your choice and stuffed into the outer envelope.
  • How much postage will I need?
RSVP Envelopes: USPS Forever Stamp (regular stamp) Outer Envelope: USPS Forever Stamp (regular stamp) IF the final invitation weighs under 1oz. If it weighs over 1oz, you will need a USPS 2oz stamp. I strongly recommend bringing one full invitation to your local post office so they can weigh it for you and let you know the exact postage to purchase.
  • Do you mail out the invitations for me?
I do not but can offer the service as an a la carte item. We can chat about this in our consultation.
  • How much do invitations cost?
On average, invitations cost $1,200 but pricing depends on quantity, paper selection and printing techniques. For example, you could have 100 digital invitations that could cost $1,200 and that could include invitations, rsvp cards, details card, and printed envelopes. You could have 50 letterpressed invitations that cost $1,200 and that could include invitations and rsvp cards only + printed envelopes. Set up a consultation with me to get a full price quote for what you're looking for.
  • Do you have templates to follow?
I have a PDF full of wording options for you to use but you're not locked into any of the wording I have listed. We can write/layout the invitations as you see fit!
  • How long have you been a designer?
I've been designing for over 13 years! I majored in Design in college and started working for an ad agency while attending school. I've been designing wedding invitations since 2015 and joined The Knot in 2016.
  • Do you have a storefront?
This is my freelance job, therefore, I don't have a storefront. I meet with brides at a local, public place during the week after 6:00pm or some Saturday's around noon.
